Sclerotherapy is a technique for the removal of body spider veins using solution called sclerosant called Fibrovein. It contains an irritant chemical, when injected into the vein, causes inflammation to the lining of the vein. The walls of the vein then stick together and the blood stops flowing through them.
There will be a reaction in the area treated.
The skin often turns pink and the spider veins can look much worse than before treatment. This is NORMAL. With time, the redness settles and becomes brown in colour as your body removes the treated vein.
The whole process can take several weeks so it is probably best to plan treatments when you do not want to expose your legs. Most patients have their sclerotherapy done in the Autumn or Winter. This gives time for the treatment to work, ready for the summer.
Spider Veins require multiple injections sessions. The number of treatments required will depend on the depths, number and size of the veins that are being treated. Some clients may be happy with the results from just one session whilst others may desire further treatments for the best results.
Spider veins commonly respond 3-6 weeks post treatment while larger veins can take up to 4 months.

✔ Uncontrolled systemic diseases such as diabetes
✔ Cardiac failure
Your Sclerotheraphy Questions Answered
Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive medical procedure that treats varicose and spider veins.
A special solution is injected directly into the problematic veins, causing them to collapse and gradually fade away as the body naturally redirects blood flow to healthier veins.
Most patients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure. You may feel slight stinging or cramping when the solution is injected, but the treatment is generally well-tolerated and doesn't require anesthesia.
While some improvement may be visible after the first session, most patients require 2-3 treatments spaced several weeks apart for optimal results.
The exact number depends on the size and number of veins being treated.
Ideal candidates are individuals with spider veins or small to medium-sized varicose veins.
However, those with a history of blood clots, certain cardiovascular conditions, or pregnant women may not be suitable candidates.
A consultation is necessary to determine eligibility.
Recovery is typically quick, with most patients returning to normal activities within 24-48 hours.
However, you'll need to wear compression stockings for a short period and avoid strenuous exercise for a few days after treatment.
Common temporary side effects include mild swelling, warmth, and discomfort around the injection sites.
Some patients may experience temporary darkening of the treated area or small clusters of red blood vessels.
Serious complications are rare when the procedure is performed by a qualified professional.
